Arrive by car, bus or private transfer.
Cuscungo sits in the quiet countryside at El Chasqui, with views of Cotopaxi and the Illinizas. You can arrive before or after visiting Cotopaxi National Park.
Park visitors may enter the protected area until 3:00 PM. Keep this in mind when planning your arrival and park visit.

Step-by-step directions
01Driving from Quito or the northOwn or rented car
Continue south on the Pan-American Highway. After crossing the bridge, continue approximately 1 km until the P&S gas station. A few metres farther, look for the Cuscungo sign and turn onto the only access road.
The lodge is approximately five minutes from the highway.
02Driving from Latacunga, Baños or the southOwn or rented car
At the south entrance, pass under the vehicle bridge. Enter on the right, take the first right at the roundabout and cross back over the bridge.
After the P&S gas station, take the next road on the right at the Cuscungo sign and continue for a few minutes to the lodge.
03Public transport from QuitoBus + 8-minute walk
Ask to get off at the P&S gas station. Walk a short distance south until you see the Cuscungo sign, then follow the only access road for approximately eight minutes.
04Public transport from LatacungaLocal LASSO bus
From Latacunga bus terminal, take a green LASSO company bus marked “El Chasqui.” It takes approximately one hour and drops you at the Cuscungo entrance.
The published reference fare is $1. Buses leave hourly, Monday through Saturday.
05Public transport from Baños or the southBus + 15-minute walk
Take a bus toward Quito and ask to get off in El Chasqui, near the pedestrian bridge, approximately 1 km before the Cotopaxi National Park entrance.
Cross the Pan-American Highway using the pedestrian bridge and follow the Cuscungo sign. Maximum walking time is approximately 15 minutes.

Cuscungo can organize private transportation from Quito, Baños, Latacunga, Quilotoa and other locations. The cost is per vehicle, so friends travelling together can share the price.

Luggage storage
You can leave your bags at Cuscungo free of charge and return to collect them later. For an additional cost, the team can also coordinate sending your luggage to a requested location and time—particularly useful when hiking the Quilotoa Loop.
